I thought I'd share some things that I'm excited about in the new Dynamics 365 Business Central 2022 release wave 2 coming in Oct 2022. Switch companies across environments

You can now from any environment or company switch companies across environments. This is such a timesaver and the way it looks in the user interface is really nice. 




Better bank reconciliation for checks

I found some updates to the Bank Account Card which are going to affect the bank reconciliation process. Also see that there is a Payment Reconciliation No. Series added.

Posted Bank Statement Report






Financial Reporting replaces Account Schedules

Adding a new licensed user isn't hard to do within Business Central (BC).  Prerequisite: license is purchased and available to assign to user. You also must be an Internal Admin or have proper security within BC to complete these tasks.  Microsoft 365 admin center Assign BC license to user. Dynamics 365 Business Central Navigate to Users page. Select Process > Update users from Microsoft 365 Update users from Microsoft 365 > Next Update users from Microsoft 365 > Next Update users from Microsoft 365. Dynamics 365 Business Central - Is this a feature or a bug? Filtering and posting General Journal lines

This blog is inspired by something I just learned from James Bowles .  Scenario: I have a General Journal with multiple lines and only want to post certain transactions/lines.  In my example I am going to filter on the Posting Date field so only the 04/30 transaction is posted. Once the posting is completed you will see the remaining lines in the journal.  Review the General Ledger Entries and you see only entry posted was the 04/30. What happens after you've successfully invited an External Accountant? You receive the below message in Dynamics 365 Business Central and your external accountant receives an email.  Steps your External Accountant should take Have your external accountant look for an email with a subject line: You have been invited to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The external accountant should click on the link provided in the email. They will be redirected to a Microsoft sign in window. In my case the external accountant email isn't listed so I'm going to select use another account. Enter email. Next window suggests that a code was sent to email.
