Community Summit 2020 is next week

Image
Community Summit North America is set to kick off next week October 7-9, 2020.  Community Summit is one of my favorite conferences of the year. This year is sure going to be different since it's going to be held virtually. Not being able to hug my friends and meet many others in person is going to be the hardest part of attending virtually for me. Please give us speakers grace and know that we have all prepared for countless hours to present; however presenting virtually is going to be such a different experience since we won't get to see all your smiling faces in the crowd!  Community One of the biggest things about Community Summit is the "community." Each UG has their own community, but lately the lines are becoming more blurred. Since Microsoft has introduced the Power Platform and it's capabilities across all Dynamics products, I've been able to learn from many other community users, consultants, and MVPs. Bringing people together and being able to lear...

Recognized with Dynamic Communities Granite Award

Originally posted on April 23, 2020 Dynamic Communities is known worldwide for being one of the only member-driven organizations dedicated to users, partners, and developers for Microsoft Dynamics GP. Dynamic Communities offers user conferences, online training, webinars, certifications, and the most important a platform for members to collaborate.  Every year awards are given out to the most engaged volunteers from users to partners. In 2019 Kristen Hosman, President of Mount Evans Consulting, was awarded the Granite Award which is the only award for partners. This award is based on volunteer points for a specific timeframe. Kristen spent countless hours over this timeframe presenting at local chapter meetings, co-presenting four sessions at Community Summit, and also participated on the planning committee for Community Summit for the fourth straight year.  To learn more about the user groups that Kristen is involved with click on the links below: GPUG D36...

2019 Community Summit Orlando Recap

Image
Originally posted on January 2, 2020 I've been to many Summits before, six to be exact but this one was truly one of the best yet. I was able to participate once again on the Planning Committee, was nominated for an All*Star award, volunteered as a GPUG Medic and co-presented four sessions with some pretty amazing GPUG members. Here are some of my highlights from the Summit. Academy Class I started off the week by taking my second Academy class and I can't rave enough about the teacher  Saurav Djyani . Not only was he fully prepared to lead this class but the materials he supplied were fully thought out and complete. If you have never taken an Academy class but have thought about it, I highly recommend taking one. They are offered yearly at the Summit and also throughout the year online. Presenting At Summit This year I had the pleasure of co-presenting four sessions with some pretty amazing GPUG members. If you're a GPUG membe...

2018 Community Summit Phoenix Recap

Originally posted on February 26, 2019 It’s never too late to recap one of the greatest conferences of the year; especially when this year’s event is just eight months away. I’ve had the honor of participating on the Planning Committee for the last three GPUG Summits (Tampa, Nashville and Phoenix) which gave me the opportunity to help decide what content is presented to more than 1,800 GPUG attendees. It wasn’t until last Summit in Phoenix that I actually was able to present a session, and it was awesome. The GPUG community is truly an amazing community to be a part of. Here are some of the highlights from last year’s Summit.  Planning Committee   It takes a lot of brainpower and hands to make Summit what it is today. I’ve heard stories about when it first started there were only around 100 attendees, and now there are more than 4,000 and 1,800+ just for GPUG. I often wonder how far in advance planning starts for an event this size, and I’ve been told years...
