Allocation Accounts in Dynamics 365 Business Central

Allocation Accounts are great for those scenarios where you want to enter one entry and have it split between accounts. In the example below I have set up an Allocation Account called 30300 and have it splitting 50/50 between two accounts.

Note that you can also add dimensions to the destination accounts, I just didn’t do that in my example below.



Here is an example of a General Journal. For the Account Type you want to select Allocation Account and then for the Account No you select the Allocation Code you want to use. When you preview post you will see the allocation happening.




Here’s an example of a Purchase Invoice using the same Allocation Account.
